Driven by ambition and a desire to reach higher levels, Xavier made a significant move to the Gold Coast, where he enrolled at the prestigious Keebra Park State High School — a known breeding ground for rugby league talent. There, he began playing A Grade rugby league from Year 7, a rare achievement that highlighted his maturity and ability on the field. Alongside his school commitments, Xavier also competed at the club level for Runaway Bay in Division 1, consistently standing out as a key performer.

Recently, Xavier’s potential was recognised by the Melbourne Storm, who invited him to join their academy program in Brisbane. After a year of intense training, growth, and development, the Storm rewarded his hard work, officially signing a two-year contract.

In 2025, Xavier’s progression continued as he earned a spot in the Burleigh Bears Cyril Connell Cup squad, solidifying his status as one of the most promising young players in the game. With determination, talent, and a relentless work ethic, Xavier Takatainga is a name to watch in the future of rugby league.
